LearnToSwim.com provides general educational content and practice-planning tools. It does not replace active adult supervision, qualified in-person swimming instruction, lifeguards, medical advice, emergency services, CPR training, or first-aid training. Swimming and aquatic activities involve inherent risks, including serious injury, drowning, and death. Beginners must never practice alone. Stop immediately if a learner experiences pain, breathing difficulty, severe distress, panic, unusual fatigue, illness, or unsafe conditions. Completion of a lesson, level, assessment, or program does not guarantee water safety or competency in every aquatic environment.
Educational information only
The Service provides general educational information about swimming skills, water-safety concepts, and practice planning. It is not medical advice, emergency guidance, lifesaving certification, or a substitute for qualified in-person instruction.
No guarantee of skill or safety
No digital resource can make a person universally safe in water. Skill acquisition varies by learner, environment, equipment, temperature, and supervision. Progress recorded in the Service reflects reported practice under stated conditions only.
Supervision
An active, responsible adult must supervise every water session for a learner who is not fully independent in the water. Beginners must never practice alone. Instructor-led content does not remove the need for on-site supervision.
Higher-risk skills
Certain skills are flagged as requiring qualified in-person supervision. Do not practice these skills without the specified supervision or environment.
Stop immediately
Stop any activity immediately for pain, breathing difficulty, severe distress, panic, unusual fatigue, illness, or unsafe conditions. Contact local emergency services in any emergency. The Service is not monitored for emergencies.
Prohibited claims
The Service must never be described as making a learner "drown-proof," "guaranteed safe," a "water-safe child," or as ensuring they will "never drown" or that "survival is guaranteed." Any such claim is inaccurate and unsafe.
